What We’re Pouring, Playing, and Roasting

As the days get longer and the patio starts to fill up, we’re leaning into everything that makes this season at Red Bird so good. From a stacked lineup of live music and community events to fresh features behind the bar, there’s a lot to settle into. This month, we’re pouring a crisp salted lime lager, highlighting a limited coffee release from the roastery, and keeping the calendar full with nights built around music, movement, and good company.

Salted Lime Lager

One of the many reasons why we love Kelowna is because summer likes to come early – so why not celebrate with this quintessential summer crusher?

For this beer, we combined a super clean & crisp rice lager base with zesty lime and a hint of sea salt. The result is an ultra thirst-quenching beer at 4% alcohol and low bitterness, with a mouthwatering dose of salt & tart citrus. Stay cool & stay hydrated – we’re keeping this one on tap all summer long.

Turkey Turner Coffee Stout

Turkey Turner is our first collaboration with our friends over at Red Bird Roasting! I probably drink nearly as much coffee as I do beer, so I was very excited for this one. We infused this rich, full-bodied stout with Colombian Finca el Poema coffee and the result is highly flavourful, yet ultra-drinkable. The Finca el Poema beans we used underwent a natural, anaerobic fermentation process and were then lightly roasted, giving exotic notes of red fruit and hibiscus.

The result really pops – the big, chocolatey stout and the bright, fruit-forward coffee combine and become reminiscent of a chocolate-raspberry dessert! In the taproom we are serving this beer on nitro, which adds extra smoothness and really helps the complex coffee and malt flavours shine through. – Andrew, Head Brewer

Lychee Lemonade

Patio season calls for something bright, refreshing, and easy to sip, and our Lychee Lemonade hits all the right notes. Made with vodka, lychee liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and soda, it’s a crisp, lightly sweet cocktail with a citrusy kick and a smooth, floral finish. Topped with a lemon wedge, it’s the kind of drink made for sunny days.

The Night Shift Whiskey

The Night Shift is a smooth, easygoing whiskey cocktail with a playful edge, mixing Lot 40 rye and Disaronno with fresh lime and Coca Cola. It is lightly sweet, refreshing, and just bold enough to stand out while still being super easy to sip.

Kelowna indie rock band nightshades headline a special live show at Red Bird Brewing on Saturday, May 2nd with support from Kamloops psychedelic rock group Mother Sun. Expect a dynamic night of melodic indie rock, adventurous songwriting, and electrifying live performances. Advance tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door.
