May Long Weekend wraps up at Red Bird Brewing with Backyard Sessions: In Bloom on Sunday, May 17. A vibrant night of indie rock, pastel tones, and spring energy, set on our outdoor stage in the heart of Kelowna’s North End.

This 19+ ticketed event runs from 7pm to 11pm and features a standout lineup with Hotel Mira, Small Town Artillery, and Lighthouse Rd. bringing a mix of indie rock, orchestral energy, and folk-driven storytelling to close out the weekend.

The theme for the night is In Bloom. Think pastel palettes, florals, and vibrant spring energy. From outfits to atmosphere, this is a chance to lean into the season and be part of a visually immersive live music experience.

Please note that the Red Bird property will be cleared at 6:15pm to prepare for the event. Doors will open at 6:30pm for ticket holders.

Hotel Mira

Headlining the night is Hotel Mira, one of Canada’s most compelling indie rock bands, known for their sharp songwriting and electric live performances. Since the release of their breakthrough album Perfectionism, the Vancouver-based group has climbed the Canadian alt rock charts and built a loyal and growing audience. Their latest single “Fever Pitch” pushes their sound forward with a bold, pop-leaning edge, blending driving guitars and powerful rhythms with lyrics that explore the intensity of love and vulnerability. With millions of streams and major tour support alongside artists like Billy Talent and The Zolas, Hotel Mira delivers a live show that is both dynamic and deeply engaging.

Small Town Artillery

Direct support comes from Small Town Artillery, a band known for their expansive and emotionally charged indie rock sound. Originally from Kaslo, BC, the group blends soaring melodies with layered instrumentation, incorporating horns and violin into a sound that feels both cinematic and heartfelt. With over a decade of touring across British Columbia and performances at festivals like Kaslo Jazz and Edge of the World, their live show is energetic, uplifting, and built for a crowd.

Lighthouse Rd

Opening the evening is Lighthouse Rd., a country-folk rock band formed by lifelong friends who bring a grounded and soulful approach to songwriting. Blending folk, blues, country, and rock influences, their music is rooted in storytelling and connection. With a sound designed to make listeners feel seen and understood, Lighthouse Rd. sets the tone for a night that builds from intimate moments to full-band energy.
