Looking for free live music in Kelowna on a Thursday night? We’ve got you covered. On November 12th from 7 to 9 pm, Chaii takes the Red Bird stage with her groovy bossa jazz rhythms, and Okanagan folk artist Kailee Duggan opens the evening with soulful songs that have been compared to Norah Jones. It’s a night of easy listening, fresh pints, and wood fired oven pizza. No tickets, just great music and even better conversation.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Mia Kelly comes to Red Bird Brewing on November 13 with Toronto folk duo Basset. Calgary-born folk singer-songwriter Michael Bernard Fitzgerald brings his warm voice and honest storytelling to Red Bird Brewing on Tuesday, November 17th, with special guest Merrick Winter. With six albums, international tours and stages shared with Bryan Adams, Ben Harper and Kings of Leon behind him, Fitzgerald is the kind of artist who makes a room feel like a living room. Two Western Canadian indie bands, one free Thursday night. Kamloops duo The Houses (Where We Grew Up) open with hazy shoegaze, noisy guitars, and melodies that sneak up on you. Then Calgary’s Flowshine takes the stage with big harmonies and sing-along hooks built over more than a decade on the road. It’s a lineup with range, and it’s free. On Saturday, November 21st, the Joshua Smith Trio takes the stage at Red Bird Brewing with Danaii opening, and you’re invited to hear stories that go from heartbreak to humour and back again. Joshua will be joined by Mitch Howanyk, formerly of Kelowna’s Kentucky Eileen, and Darcy Booth on bass, with brand new music to share. Award-winning indie-folk artist Daniel James McFadyen brings his road-worn storytelling and high-energy live show to Red Bird Brewing on December 3. Following sold-out shows across Canada and the release of Back To The Country, he's quickly becoming one of the country's compelling contemporary folk voices. Tofino based folk singer-songwriter Kieran Campbell opens the night. Tickets start at $20.
On December 5th, the Dan Tait Band brings their folk-Americana sound and three-part harmonies to Red Bird Brewing, with the Cal Volpe Trio opening the evening with groovy originals and rock riffs.
