  • Vieux Farka Touré with Alpha Yaya Diallo (Past Event)

    On September 9th, Red Bird welcomes Vieux Farka Touré, the Malian guitar virtuoso known worldwide as "The Hendrix of the Sahara”, for a rare Okanagan performance. Son of the legendary Ali Farka Touré, Vieux has spent two decades carving his own path through desert blues, collaborating with the likes of Khruangbin, Dave Matthews, and Derek Trucks along the way. Opening the night is Guinea-born, Canada-based guitarist Alpha Yaya Diallo, whose fluid fretwork and rich West African roots have made him one of world music's hottest live acts.     Fifteen years, three continents, and one camper van at a time, Kim Churchill has busked his way from small-town Australia to Glastonbury stages and 60 million streams, and on September 12th he's bringing that whole wild journey to the Red Bird Stage. Known for his one-man-band energy and the Platinum-selling hit "Window to the Sky," Kim writes his songs at sunrise and performs them like it's the last show he'll ever play.
