Indie folk and honest songwriting for a laid-back summer night
Live music in Kelowna continues Thursday, June 4 as Aaron Wylder and Joshua Smith take the outdoor stage at Red Bird Brewing for a free night of indie folk, Americana, and storytelling. Music runs from 8pm to 10pm, setting the tone for an easy summer evening on the patio.
Aaron Wylder brings a sound shaped by both his Caribbean roots and his time on Canada’s west coast. Now splitting his time between Montreal and Victoria, Wylder blends Americana, indie rock, and indie folk into a style that feels both relaxed and reflective. His music carries a sense of warmth and openness, drawing from his early life experiences and translating them into songs that feel grounded and real. With his debut album Brand New TV set to release this spring, Wylder is hitting the road on a cross-Canada tour, bringing his evolving sound to new audiences along the way.
Joining him is Joshua Smith, a Nova Scotia-born songwriter whose music is rooted in honesty, storytelling, and everyday life. Coming from a long line of musicians, Smith carries forward a tradition of heartfelt songwriting that connects with listeners through both vulnerability and humour. His songs explore the full range of human experience, from heartbreak to lighthearted observations, delivered in a way that feels approachable and genuine.
Together, these two artists create a night of live music that leans into connection, simplicity, and strong songwriting. Set on Red Bird Brewing’s outdoor stage, this free concert pairs live music with craft beer, wood-fired pizza, and one of the best patios in Kelowna.
Music starts at 8pm. No cover.
