Harmonies, storytelling, and indie folk under a summer sky
Live music in Kelowna continues Thursday, June 11 as Jed & The Valentine take the outdoor stage at Red Bird Brewing, joined by Nevaeh Dyson for a free night of indie folk, harmony-driven songwriting, and emotional connection. Music runs from 8pm to 10pm, setting the tone for a relaxed summer evening on the patio.
Headlining the night is Jed & The Valentine, a duo known for their sun-dappled indie folk sound built around layered harmonies and deeply personal songwriting. Blending guitar and banjo with rich melodic textures, their music has been described as “love letters set to music.” Since forming, the pair have quickly gained momentum, performing at major folk festivals across Canada and releasing two albums in back-to-back years. Their debut Awake! introduced their warm and expansive sound, while their sophomore album In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb earned a spot in CKUA’s Top Ten. Their live performances are intimate, heartfelt, and filled with moments that linger long after the last note.
Opening the evening is Nevaeh Dyson, a Kelowna-based singer-songwriter whose one-woman show has already taken her across Canada and the UK. Known for her thoughtful lyricism and commanding stage presence, Nevaeh blends alt-folk influences with sharp social observation and emotional depth. Her music explores themes of identity, belonging, and the human experience, delivered through stripped-back arrangements that put her voice and storytelling front and centre. With new music on the way and a growing audience behind her, she continues to establish herself as a compelling voice in the Canadian folk scene.
Set against the backdrop of Red Bird Brewing’s outdoor stage, this free live music event brings together two artists who excel at creating connection through song. Pair that with craft beer, wood-fired pizza, and one of Kelowna’s best patios for live music, and you have a night worth settling into.
Music starts at 8pm. No cover.
