Row for a cause. Raise a pint. Make a difference.
Join us on Friday, June 12 for Making Waves & Raising Pints, a community fundraiser supporting Making Waves for Autism and the incredible work they do helping children and families access life-changing autism therapies and support programs.
Presented by Raymond James, this unique event combines fitness, fundraising, community connection, and a shared goal of making a meaningful impact right here in the Okanagan.
Throughout the day, participants will take on a collective rowing challenge with an ambitious target: 365 kilometres in a single day. With rowing machines provided by CrossFit Okanagan, community members of all fitness levels are invited to hop on a machine, contribute a few kilometres, and help push the group toward the finish line.
Whether you’re rowing for five minutes or fifty, every stroke helps raise awareness and support for autism services that continue to make a difference in the lives of local families.
Founded by local advocate Kim Inglis, Making Waves for Autism was created to raise awareness, funding, and support for autism programs while helping families navigate the challenges that often accompany an autism diagnosis. Through community fundraising initiatives and partnerships, the organization continues to create opportunities and resources that positively impact children and families throughout British Columbia.
Throughout the event, guests can enjoy a fun and welcoming atmosphere featuring music, community participation, fundraising activities, prize giveaways, and plenty of opportunities to get involved. A live DJ will keep the energy high while participants work toward the collective rowing goal.
Prizes and giveaways will be awarded throughout the day for participation, fundraising achievements, and milestone accomplishments, adding a little extra motivation to every kilometre completed.
Red Bird Brewing will remain open throughout the event with food, craft beer, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and our full kitchen menu available for purchase. Whether you’re participating in the challenge or simply stopping by to support the cause, everyone is welcome.
Come row a few kilometres, cheer on participants, raise a pint, and help make waves for autism.
