Dogs, community, and a day of giving back together

Kick off summer in Kelowna with a feel-good community event at Red Bird Brewing on Sunday, June 14. The Paws It Forward Summer Kick-Off Fundraiser brings together dog lovers, families, and local businesses for a full day of connection, activities, and fundraising in support of Paws It Forward Dog Rescue Society.

Running from 11am to 5pm, this free-to-attend event transforms the Red Bird property into a lively, dog-friendly celebration filled with adoptable pups, contests, and donation-based activities designed to support rescue efforts across the Okanagan. Sponsored by Volvo, Ultra Magnetic Ink, Summer Martens Art, and StingRay Radio.

🐶 Meet Adoptable Dogs

Spend time in the Puppy Corner (sponsored by Volvo), where you can meet adoptable dogs and connect with Paws It Forward volunteers. Learn more about the adoption process and support a local organization dedicated to giving dogs a second chance.

🏆 Dog Contests (Sign Up Required)

Get involved in the fun by entering one of our dog-friendly contests, hosted by the team at Stingray Radio:

🐾 Best Dog Trick Competition
• Round 1: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
• Round 2: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

🐶 Doggleganger Contest (you and your dog look alike)
• 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM

👉 Spots are limited and advance sign-up is required

All participants must:
• Check in with the Paws It Forward team upon arrival
• Make a $5 donation to confirm their online registration

All proceeds go directly to Paws It Forward Dog Rescue Society, and prizes will be awarded to contest winners.

📸 Photo Moments & Pet Portraits

Capture the day at our selfie station, with a chance to win prizes when you share your photos. We will have prizes for best dressed dog, funniest photo, best GIF, and most unique photo.

We’re also excited to have Summer Martens Art on site offering live pet portraits, creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake of your furry friend. A portion of proceeds from the live pet portraits will be donated to the charity.

🎨 Activities & Experiences

There is something for everyone throughout the day:

Kids Zone with face painting, temporary tattoos, and balloon animals
Flash Tattoo Station by Ultra Magnetic Ink (portion of proceeds donated)
Fundraising Games like Toss the Treat
Paws It Forward Merch Booth featuring apparel and rescue goods

All activities are by donation and support the charity.

🍕 Food & Drinks

Refuel with Red Bird Brewing’s full menu, including:

Craft beer and feature brews
Dog Beer (portion of proceeds donated)
Cocktails and non-alcoholic options
Wood-fired pizza and kitchen favourites
