Mad, noisy, and built for the stage.
Alternative rock energy lands at Red Bird on Thursday, July 9th as Moondoggy brings their explosive live show to our stage from 8–10pm. This is a free show — and one you’ll want to catch.
Formed in 2019 in Collingwood, Ontario, Moondoggy cut their teeth playing house parties and small local gigs before relocating to Toronto in 2020. The move plugged them into a thriving DIY and venue circuit, where they sharpened their sound and built a loyal following through relentless live performance and independent releases.
The band — Jakob Matanowitsch (vocals, guitar), Ben Matanowitsch (saxophone, acoustic guitar), Jonny Contini (lead guitar), and Victor Carrillo (drums) — blends gritty alternative rock with dynamic instrumentation, including sax-driven textures that add a raw, unexpected edge to their sound.
In 2023, Moondoggy released their debut full-length album Mad & Noisy, which exploded internationally, amassing over 14 million streams worldwide. A second album followed, cementing their steady output and collaborative rhythm. Now in 2026, the band is stepping onto the global stage with their third album Around The Fire and their first-ever tours across the United States and Europe.
Before they hit international stages, they’re bringing that fire to Kelowna.
Expect high-energy alt-rock, tight musicianship, and a band that thrives on live connection. Free entry. Cold beer. Big sound.
