Alt rock energy meets haunting indie power on the Red Bird stage
Live music in Kelowna continues Saturday, May 9 as Elli Hart and Tess Anderson share the stage for a powerful night of indie rock and alt rock at Red Bird Brewing. Music runs from 8pm to 11pm for a special ticketed show featuring two Canadian artists known for emotionally charged songwriting and unforgettable live performances.
Headlining the evening is Elli Hart, a Canadian artist whose sound blends desert-dusk Americana with driving indie rock. With a voice that cuts through a room and searing guitar lines to match, Hart’s music explores themes of rebellion, resilience, and raw vulnerability.
Earlier in her career, Hart performed under the moniker Dirty Mountain, sharing stages with artists including Eric Church, Little Big Town, and the Arkells while performing at major festivals such as Sunfest, Rock the Shores, and Rifflandia. After stepping back during the pandemic and embracing motherhood, Hart returned to music under her own name with a renewed sense of purpose and creative direction.
Her upcoming ten-song album, recorded with producer Dave Genn, features an impressive lineup of collaborators including Pat Steward on drums, Darren Parris on bass, and guest appearances from Shaun Verreault of Wide Mouth Mason, Paul Rigby of Neko Case, and Darren Savard of Dallas Smith. The record will roll out through singles across 2025 and 2026, marking an exciting new chapter in Hart’s musical journey.
Tess Anderson is a Vancouver-based alt rock artist who has built a reputation for high-energy performances that balance grit and vulnerability. After nearly a decade of experimenting across genres, Anderson found her voice in the dynamic world of alt rock, creating music that blends distorted guitars with sharp pop hooks.
Her debut album Before I Come Unhinged, released in 2024, is a bold exploration of self-reclamation and breaking free from toxic cycles. The album has already surpassed 200,000 streams and earned coverage from Billboard Music Canada and Exclaim!, along with national airplay on CBC.
A relentless performer, Anderson recently completed her first Western Canada headline tour and has opened for Canadian favourites Mother Mother while appearing at festivals across British Columbia.
Together, Elli Hart and Tess Anderson bring an electrifying night of live music to Red Bird Brewing. From raw storytelling to soaring alt rock energy, this is a concert that highlights the strength of Canada’s independent music scene.
Advance tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door.
