Two voices. One night. Pure folk storytelling at its best.
On Friday, November 21st, Red Bird’s stage will come alive with one of Canada’s most promising indie-folk artists — Daniel James McFadyen.
Fresh off three wins at the 2024 Music Nova Scotia Awards and the release of his latest single Landmine, McFadyen is riding a wave of national momentum. Known for his electric live shows, heartfelt storytelling, and ability to turn packed venues into intimate folk gatherings, he’s quickly becoming a household name in the Canadian folk scene. His music blends narrative-driven lyrics with Americana textures and infectious melodies — a sound born around campfires and brought to life on big stages. Whether it’s the stomp-and-sing-along energy or the quiet honesty of a ballad, McFadyen delivers it with charm and grit.
Supporting Artist – Kieran Campbell
Opening the night is Kieran Campbell, a gifted alt-folk songwriter who crafts songs rich with lyrical depth and emotional resonance. Raised on the West Coast and shaped by time spent in Montréal, Kieran draws influence from the poetic traditions of Townes Van Zandt and John Prine, while creating something deeply personal and present. His songs offer a space for reflection, weaving vulnerability and warmth through every chord.
This one’s for the folk lovers, the lyric heads, and anyone who wants to be reminded why live music matters.
