Edwin Raphael is a Montreal based songwriter with roots in Kerala, India, and his music lives in the space between those two worlds. He blends Eastern scales with Western pop songcraft to create a style of folk that feels both familiar and entirely his own, a sound built specifically to hold multiple identities at once. His latest record, I Know a Garden, is a lush, chamber pop exploration of dreams and memory, tended with the same patience and care as a garden itself. Where his earlier work, including the 2023 release Warm Terracotta, found him mapping the outer shores of an imagined island, this new chapter moves inward, toward the green centre where roots and possibility grow side by side. It’s music for anyone who has ever felt like home is something you build rather than something you’re simply given.
