On Saturday, July 25, the internationally acclaimed trio brings their genre-defying live show to Red Bird Brewing for a night of music that blurs the lines between electronic production, world music, folk traditions, blues, and psychedelic exploration.
Known for creating immersive performances that feel equal parts concert, dance party, and sonic journey, Dirtwire has built a devoted global following through a sound that is impossible to categorize and unforgettable to experience.
Drawing influence from their travels across six continents, Dirtwire weaves together sounds and traditions gathered from around the world. From West African rhythms and Central American ceremonial music to delta blues, bluegrass, electronic bass music, and cinematic soundscapes, the band creates a musical language entirely their own.
Their live performances feature an incredible collection of instruments, including West African kamale ngonis, jaw harps, space fiddles, bowed banjos, mouth harps, whamola basses, and vintage electric guitars, all layered alongside modern electronic production, sampled beats, and deep bass frequencies.
The result is a constantly evolving musical experience that can shift from a back-porch blues jam to a psychedelic dance floor, from cinematic soundscapes to full-throttle electronic grooves.
Over the years, Dirtwire has performed around the globe, appearing everywhere from the favelas of Brazil and Femi Kuti’s Shrine in Lagos to festivals in the Australian Outback, bluegrass clubs in Tokyo, ceremonies in Central America, and stages throughout North America and Europe. Their music is rooted in the belief that sound can connect cultures, communities, and experiences across borders.
