Two rising voices. One intimate night of live music.

Spend your Thursday evening immersed in live music as Austen Sawchuk and Ayla Buckberry bring an intimate, songwriter-driven show to Red Bird Brewing. This free performance highlights two local artists whose work is rooted in authenticity, musicianship, and meaningful connection with their audience.

Austen Sawchuk is a BC-based guitarist, songwriter, and music teacher with a rapidly growing presence in the Canadian country and rock scenes. Currently working as lead guitarist for Canadian country artist Dawson Gray, Austen has performed on major stages including Sunfest, Junofest, and the CCMA Main Stage, and supported Dawson Gray on multiple dates of Dasha’s Canadian headline tour. His touring experience spans more than 15 dates across Canada, along with performances at high-profile venues such as Rogers Arena, McMahon Stadium, Rogers Forum, and Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Nashville. Beyond the country world, Austen fronts rock duo Texas Major, where he writes and performs original material, bringing a modern rock edge to his dynamic live style.

Sharing the night is Ayla Buckberry, a Kelowna-based singer-songwriter whose acoustic-driven sound blends folk, country, and subtle jazz influences. Often compared to Alanis Morissette, Jewel, and Gracie Abrams, Ayla’s music is rooted in vulnerability and honest storytelling. After debuting as a performing artist last summer, she has focused on growth, connection, and refining her voice as an artist. While this acoustic era remains central to her journey, 2026 marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter as her sound continues to evolve.

Together, Austen and Ayla offer a night of thoughtful songs, expressive musicianship, and moments that feel both personal and memorable — the perfect pairing for a relaxed night at Red Bird.
