Folk Showcase Ft. Kailee Duggan Trio

Kailee Duggan is a singer-songwriter from the Okanagan Valley in BC. At the age of 8, she bought a guitar and began to share her originals at local coffee shops and open mic nights. Her skills and passion steadily grew over the years and she’s been playing at various local events and venues ever since.

Kailee’s artistry is inspired by the likes of Paul McCartney, Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones, and many more. Her style has been described as a diverse mix of genres with a soulful folky twist.

This past year Kailee opened for Craig Northey of “The Odds” at the Dream Café in Penticton, Dan Mangan, and shared the stage at Nest Fest in Kelowna with the Likes of Bahamas, Paper Kites, Boy Golden and Billianne.

Kailee is currently recording new music to be released in 2024.

Nomawn Shahzad is currently a Kelowna-based singer/songwriter. Originally from Ontario, Nomawn picked up his first guitar at 14 and it quickly became his favourite way to spend time. After moving to Kelowna, Nomawn found his passion for performing and storytelling while visiting open mics around the city. He draws inspiration from his journey of self-growth, reminiscently sharing moments of his relationships with friends, family, lovers and himself.

Makayla Charleen, a coastal cowgirl with sand in her roots and her boots, embodies an untameable spirit. This Country singer and songwriter, with her western and honky tonk storytelling, has the ability to bring her songs to life with her lively vocals and performance. Makayla’s music will have you two-stepping and swooning over your long-lost cowboy.

She has graced stages of regional and interprovincial festivals, leaving a memorable impression with her audiences at well-known events such as the Monashee Music Festival in British Columbia and the Cochrane Classic Bull Riding Event in Alberta. She has opened for renowned artists including Aaron Pritchett and accompanied Canadian Country artists on tour such as the Hillside Outlaws. Currently residing in the heart of the Okanagan, Makayla has no shortage of live music events at local venues for you to attend.

Makayla has nurtured a devoted following on social media. From the early stages of entertaining the idea of starting a career in music, to sharing her festival experiences with her followers, she continues to cultivate a growing fan base.
