Her new sophomore album ‘This Can’t Last Forever’ was written between Vancouver, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Toronto, where she found herself in writing rooms with collaborators like Khalid Yassein (Wild Rivers) and Ryan Stewart (Carly Rae Jepsen). An earlier single ‘Little Pieces’ was featured on SiriusXM’s Poplandia ‘About To Break’ series. Although she commands stages and studios like a seasoned pop star (including Breaking Sound LA and Toronto, Root Dwellers, Tiny Lights, and Laketown Shakedown), Michaela is arguably a singer-songwriter first, constantly delivering mind-bending melodies and lyrical singularity that defy categorization. The title ‘This Can’t Last Forever’ is ultimately a statement of fact—the sole, inescapable condition of living that Slinger works to accept on this record.
